We all need to adjust our home to our “new normal”, right?

Exclusively to Design is here to help with ideas that you can implement at home to create a multi-purpose home. Designate and clear a room or space for your specific need: home office, home classroom or personal gym. Paint the walls to update the space. Add appropriate window covering if blackout is needed.

  1. Office Space:

Re-purpose your current furniture for your new space!

A console table can be a desk and a dining chair, an office chair.

A guest closet can be turned into office storage with crates and plastic containers used as file systems or organizers.

A Media cabinet can be used for office storage.

Convert a wall into a projection wall for Zoom meetings.

Create a DIY pinboard, calendar or dry erase for presentations.

  2. Create a “Classroom” from an unused alcove in your home. Close off the room with a room divider or screen or build a wall with a door for more privacy.

Take two matching bookcases and add a long painted wood top to be as a desk top space in between the bookcases.

Paint a wall in “chalk” paint for the kids to use.

Cover wall in a sheet acrylic for dry erase lesson boards.

Crown molding trim to be used as wall ledges.
